SIX ORDAINED TO THE PRIESTHOOD IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF ACCRA

On Saturday, September 19, 2020, the Most Reverend Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle ordained 6 young men to the ministerial priesthood at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Accra.

The Archbishop in his homily called on the new priests to strive to follow Jesus Christ unreservedly. According to him “it is only in this will you also one day be made perfect and become a source of eternal salvation in Christ Jesus in your priestly ministry and be fit for the kingdom of God.”

He further asked them to learn to be obedient to their superiors as Christ was to his father. “Like Christ Jesus, with tears, prayers and supplication, learn obedience.”

Archbishop Palmer-Buckle also urged the older priests present to be good examples to the newly ordained priests. He said, “as elder brothers in the priesthood, you must lead these young ones to know the voice of God and to understand God in the difficulties of their lives and to follow him selflessly.”

Addressing the few congregants present as well as those who had joined online via the live streaming due to covid19 restrictions, the Archbishop admonished them to support the newly ordained priests with their prayers. He also asked that they offer prayers for speedy recovery for Archbishop John Bonaventure Kwofie.

The six ordained to priesthood include;

Rev. Fr. John Armah Kuofie
Rev. Fr. Isaac Gyasi Amoateng
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mensah Larnyoh
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Boateng
Rev. Fr. Dominic Amanor
Rev. Fr. Bernard Adu-Tawiah Sor
