The Department for Social Communications (DEPSOCOM) of the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi has received a major boost to enhance its activities with the acquisition of new equipment.

The items which include camcorders, a video mixer, lapel microphones among others were purchased with a grant from SIGNIS following an appeal to SIGNIS last year by the Director for Social Communication for the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Dolphyne with recommendation from Most Rev John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp then Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi.

Inspecting the items, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese, Very Rev Fr. John Baptist Attakruh expressed gratitude to SIGNIS for this kind gesture and urged the Department to ensure the Diocese derives the ultimate benefits for which these items were procured.

He also thanked Fr. Dolphyne for his efforts at bringing the Department up to speed so as to enable it to deliver on its mandate.

He further appealed to other benevolent individuals and societies in the Church to come to the aid of Depsocom Sekondi-Takoradi to help secure a van to help them in transporting their equipments from one location to another in covering programs in the Diocese.
