Dame Sey receiving her birthday blessing during Mass

Dame Josephine Augustina Araba Sey recently celebrated her 80th birthday. The celebration was preceded with a Mass presided over by Most Rev. Charles G. Palmer-Buckle, Archbishop of Cape-Coast.

In his homily during the Mass at the Holy Child College of Education Chapel, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle described Dame Sey as someone who has “done well with the gift of eighty years that the Lord has given her.” Selected. He also encouraged all present to imitate the Dame Sey’s selflessness and devotion to Holy Mother Church.

Most Rev. Joseph Afrifa Agyekum, Bishop of Koforidua Diocese who addressed the gathering after Mass, extolled Dame Sey for her hardwork and commitment to excellence.

He further described her as a good model for young people.
Dame Josephine Sey expressed gratitude to God and to all who had joined her in celebrating 80 years of God’s mercy and graciousness.

The celebration was attended by Very Rev. Fr. John Baptist Attakruh, Apostolic Administrator of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese, as well as priests and religious from the Sekondi-Takoradi and Koforidua Dioceses.

Also present were Madam Matilda Amissah-Arthur, former Second Lady of Ghana, His Excellency Papa Owusu Ankomah, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, some members of the forum for Papal Knights and Dames as well as friends and well-wishers of Dame Josephine Augustina Araba Sey.
