LAITY COUNCIL CALLS FOR “GREATER COLLABORATION AND THE CLERGY”

The National Catholic Laity Council has called for “greater collaboration between the Laity and the Clergy to promote peaceful co-existence and harmony for the growth of the Church.”

This was part of the resolutions adopted by the Council at the end of its 42nd Annual Plenary Assembly held at the Diocesan Counselling and Formation Centre in Jasikan Diocese from Thursday, January 21, 2021 to Sunday, January 17, 2021.

The Theme for this year’s Plenary Assembly was “The Word of God: Christian Formation for Transformation in Ghana.”

In a statement signed by Professor Elias N. K. Sowley, National Chairman, the Council also advocated for “greater attention to marriage and family issues” by both Clergy and the Laity. According to the statement, this can be done “by creating a template to facilitate the development of appropriate interventions and formation programmes.”
